It's rainy outside this morning.
Actually a spring shower, lightly misting and making for a wet day. It's just 49 degrees outside. Still enough to put a chill in you. Especially with the rain.
I am ready for Spring!
So are my bulbs.
I want to go out and start gardening. I have lots of ideals and plans. I want to see lots of flowers.
I want to get my hands dirty!
My daughters are enjoying warmer weather, as they went vacationing for Spring Break.
Emily went to Daytona Beach, Florida.
It is currently sunny and 75 degrees there.
Annie is in South Padre Island, Texas.
Although it is 68 degrees and cloudy there right now. But the rest of the week screams warmer weather.
I am a little jealous.
(but really happy for the girls. They needed a nice break from school).

I wish I was at the beach! :( I am so so so ready for Spring! It can't get here fast enough. <3 ya Janis!
I am also ready for spring. Since I have retired I will love spring again, instead of hating it.
We've had some beautiful Spring weather and then turned to cool again with rain. Looking forward to warmer weather this weekend!
It will warm up soon here, but still not the same as the South
I'm waiting for my hastas to pop up... they are usually my first signs... though I do hear a robin actually SINGING today!
Still no sign of spring over here Janis, its still frozen over in the mornings :(

I know what you mean, I've been eyeing places that we could drive within a day away, like Gulf Shores, Alabama, a favorite place of one of my co-workers. It's not exceptionally hot, but it sure is compared to HERE. 70 would feel like heaven right now. We have the week off of Sarah's Spring Break which is the last week of March, but probably we're going to have to keep it closer to home, so hopefully it will be nice by then.
My perennials are all coming up as well. It's a slow transition here in Illinois, much as it is where you are, I suspect. Cold weather persists on into April here, but at least there will be warm days sprinkled in between eventually. What's been bothering me lately is the complete lack of sunshine - it hasn't been truly sunny here in at least 2 weeks. Crazy.
Once Spring does truly arrive though, I'm really happy for my lovely work hours, since I'm home by 3:00 with a lot of daylight left at least 3 days a week :)
... Oh I forgot to mention - while it may not look entirely like Spring, nature knows in other ways too. On March 1st, I heard the Red-Winged Blackbirds singing out in the back by the pond and they are a true sign of Spring here in Illinois, since as I shared earlier in January - Robins stay here year round. :)
Janis,
Haven't you heard? It'll be here March 15 - the groundhog says so. And it's gotta be true because I've been blogging it - a lot!
Cindy Bee
Its nearly here ;-)
