This Buds for you...

magnolia buds
(I don't know what these are)
(I don't know what these are either!)
Crocuses!
Spring has sprung! The trees and flowers are budding!
Ahhhh Spring.....
Hubby is away for the week. I am planning a Surprise Guys Night In for his Birthday the day after he comes homes.  An all Guys evening. No women folk hang around.  Basketball games on the tube... card tables set.... food & drinks... maybe a little cigar smoking on the patio...

oh wait!
This is what Hubby did yesterday before he left!
This is a huge branch he decided to saw off the tree before it started budding. The branch scrapped on the roof and filled the gutter with leaves in the Fall.
It is stuck between my tree and my lovely bird feeder stand. Blocking the walkway... He figured he can saw it later next weekend. BUT I need it out of the way for the little gathering on Saturday.  With today being a pretty day (it reached 75!),  a little rain but mostly sunshine. With the weather getting colder through the week, I realize I need to get to it now.

Sooooo... with my clippers & little hand saw, gloves and a glass of wine... I sawed, clipped and turned that dang branch into kindling.  Not gonna let that get in the way of his Guys Night! (Gosh, I am a pretty sweet little Wifey!)

Where are you Spring?

It's rainy outside this morning.
Actually a spring shower, lightly misting and making for a wet day. It's just 49 degrees outside. Still enough to put a chill in you. Especially with the rain.

I am ready for Spring!
So are my bulbs.
I want to go out and start gardening.  I have lots of ideals and plans. I want to see lots of flowers.
I want to get my hands dirty!

My daughters are enjoying warmer weather, as they went vacationing for Spring Break.
Emily went to Daytona Beach, Florida.
It is currently sunny and 75 degrees there.
Annie is in South Padre Island, Texas.
Although it is 68 degrees and cloudy there right now. But the rest of the week screams warmer weather.

I am a little jealous.
(but really happy for the girls. They needed a nice break from school).

a Taste of Spring w/ a touch of Summer

As it starts to warm here in Indiana, we are getting a beautiful splash of color.
The tulips are vivid.

The Trees are budding and so very fragrant.
Also making the Bees happy. They have flocked to the trees spreading their pollen (when not stinging my booty!)

The Magnolia bush is in full bloom as well. It's pink and white is breathtaking.

Mischa, thinks she is an outdoor cat. Sharpening her claws, ready to ponce. (Don't worry, she is an indoor cat. She only is pretending. The only poncing will be on a toy in the house!)

Then there's these little stinkers ... I must say, even the Dandelions look love to me today!

Ahh.. Spring is Lurking!

So pretty!
I got these at Walmart (yes, Walmart 2 bunches @ $5ea). They were a perfect Spring Pick Me Upper, as well as a nice centerpiece for my Wine & Candle party I had last weekend.
I love spring flowers. They are so delicate and sweet. I can't wait to start planting at this home. First I want to see what is already here. I know we have Iris' (my all time favorite). I am hoping many more colorful selections! It will be a lovely surprise as spring arrives and all start to bloom!

On the Blog, AGAIN!

Well, Sergio is back out of town. I have sooooo much I should be doing! I am going to work this evening & had planned on using my time wisely, but... here I am again on the BLOG!

I just am doing my own thing to my own rules! I will power clean, maybe, when I get home tonight. Maybe.. I still have tomorrow morning & afternoon..

I start cleaning or working on something then I get a thought or find a photo. You know. I wanna play instead of work! Why did I agree to come in on my off days??? Oh yeah, because they cut my hours so badly that I will take whatever I can until I find "Full time" work again.

But back to fun stuff.

I was on the phone earlier and saw Daffodil's out the window! I didn't know I had them because they were on the other side of the privacy fence and I couldn't see unless I was upstairs or back in the rear yard. Aren't they pretty? I cut some to put in the vase Annie made me. So Springy!

I just noticed the date (wrong date at that) is on these pictures. Dang it! I hate when that happens! Just ignore it.

I have a couple of more things I want to post. So I will let you go...for now...

Dandelion Farming

As I sit here this morning, I have a gentle spring breeze flowing through the window. The birds are chirping and I hear Spring begging to come early. The groundhog tells us 6 more weeks of Winter, but the birds are singing Spring is here!

Last night, Annie told me she need around 50 photos scanned to her memory stick for a school project. A calendar to be made (a gift for me). She apologized for the late notice, she forgot about it. But now, at 9:30 pm, can I pick 4 photos for each month of herself & sister to go into a calendar? Sure.... pick just 4 for each month? hmmm. I am up for the challenage! And so I started flipping through memory lane and photo albums.

This photo is of my girls back in late spring of 1992 (Emily is 3, Annie is 20 months). They are diligently trying to blow the dandelions apart. The tiny seeds with their downy tufts, so delicate and sweet.

I know, it is a weed. But what a lovely weed! Tell me a mother that didn't have a heart full of joy when their little one ran to them with a bouquet of dandelions. The fluffy seeded or bright yellow petals, it did not matter. I always had a vase full of them in the spring and summers.

I haven't seen any dandelions yet, but I am sure they will come in due time. I will miss getting the bouquets though.

Spring is in the Air!

Spring is finally here, I think.
This is typical Indiana weather. Beautiful one day, ugly the next. We can go from 40 to 70 within twenty four hours. Spring officially came awhile back. We had our spring break, Easter, St Patrick's Day & even Mother's Day. We have had some gorgeous weather, followed by cold weather. Today is iffy. Beautiful, to look at, but by golly, that wind is chilly! To me, Spring is officially here when my Iris' are blooming. They are my favorite flower. I absolutely love them. I have several varieties, but so far, these are my only ones budding. I pray we don't get another cold night that will kill off all the blooms. We already had that, a couple of times. So today, I threw on shorts, pretended to be warm outside and had Annie take this picture of my Iris'.
