Real Life Blogettes

This morning I got to meet two of my favorite Bloggers!

Very exciting!
Suspense was killing me as I waited for them to arrive.
In my little corner of the Blog World, I have a wide variety of Bloggers that I follow and enjoy.  They range across the world and of different interest.  I am fascinated with diversity as well as similarity.  Crazy that someone is so like me half way around the world.  Even CRAZIER? Finding fellow Blog Gals in my own backyard!
This morning, I drove 35 minutes to a half way location to meet two Blog friends.

Reality Jayne

and

Cindy Bee
I happily report, they are as marvelous in real life as in Blog world. No stalker weirdos here. They were genuine and I adored them!
Don't you love when you can just pick up with someone like you have known them forever? I look forward to more get-togethers and hope to meet more Hoosier Bloggers. The hours flew, and before we were ready out time was up and we had life to get on with.

I love my Blog World♥
Thank you so much Gals for meeting with me.  You both ROCK!

Our Soft Drinks Vs Their Coffee Drinks

When I was a young girl, one of the biggest deals about having a "sleepover" was what you would be serving to eat & drink. Pizza or burgers, lots of chips, and popcorn were the staples.

The drinks were important. I'm talking grade school and Junior High here... so were you a Coke or Pepsi? Along with 7-up. If your parents let you get the cute little bottles, that made you cool.

Another really cool fun choice was getting to choose from Towne Club Soda. Do you remember? In Indianapolis we had a Towne Club on Pendleton Pike. It was a huge deal for Julie & I to get to "pick" our case of sodas. I remember Pineapple Cream, Red Pop, Grape, and Tangerine, to name a few.

Today's kids don't seem to drink Soda Pop. The young men all love their Monster energy drinks, while the girls all seem to drink coffee drinks. I see young girls of 9 or 10 gulping down their Frappucinnos and Cappuccinos. I didn't start drinking coffee till I was 21. I started because I had to make it all the time in the Restaurant I worked in. While in college, I drank Hot Chocolate & sometimes Hot Tea, IF Pepsi or Coke were not available. We certainly didn't have fancy drinks with whipped cream and a thousand calories. I can't imagine paying the Big Bucks kids today spend on these. Grant it I grew up a long time ago, but a spurge back then was a Shake or Freeze from Steak & Shake or a Fountain Cherry Coke at the Drugstore where my College was. Most people (especially kids)seem to not mind popping $4-6 dollars out for a fancy coffee drink. I walk every day with co-workers to a Starbucks. My friend gets an Ice Coffee refill daily for just a buck when she has her Starbucks cup with her. I go along for the walk & her company but have never bought one. I just can't see it. They are not that good, in my opinion. (Although she gets a deal, I won't pay for the over-priced cup.) ME? At my age (and weight) I will stick to my "free" coffee at the office. Spurge? I'll take a Margarita on the Rocks with extra salt please!

New & Improved

I have rediscovered some oldies but goodies!

First we have, Neutrogena's "Rainbath". I have loved this for many years. It is one of the best shower soaps I have ever used. Somewhat reasonable in price. When I am lucky, I get this big 40 ounce from Sam's. The great thing about this currently is that they have a new scent. Grapefruit. Hello? Those that know me, know this is a no brainer for me. I love grapefruit anything! It is a citrus scent that I crave!
Next I have rediscovered this!
I use to LOVE "General Foods International Flavored Coffees"! Well, the caffeine/sugar version that is. I stopped drinking them years ago when I became more of a hard core coffee w/ no flavors type. Now, I don't know. I am up to a little flavors now and then. After all, I am drinking that Eggnog creamer during the holidays.
It is good to rediscover old loves. It's even better when they are new & improved!

T.R.O.U.B.L.E.

I am in trouble... again! Although I am not a big fan of flavors in my coffee, Nestle Coffee-mate, introduced me to my little friend Eggnog Flavor a couple of years ago.

I love it. This is the only flavor, I really love in my java. Can't be my first cup, but definitely the last couple of cups! This potion has 35 calories per serving. Problem is "my" size serving vs "their" size serving is probably not the same.

Thankfully, this flavor is only offered for a limited time, then will go away for many months, only to return and force me to buy and drink a years supply-worth!

Grand Traverse Pie Company

YUMMY: tasty; delicious; mouthwatering; luscious; appetizing; savory; scrumptious;

Traverse Pie Company!

This is my current favorite eatery. Annie & I stumbled upon it one day shortly after they opened. OH MY GOODNESS!

Not only do they have fabulous home made pies, but wonderful quiches, sandwiches, baked potatoes, Pot Pies, salads, soups, muffins, turnovers, cinnamon rolls, cookies and cakes!

And let me tell you, they are darn good.

We ate lunch there one day. Then later this month I bought a Apple Dumpling with Carmel Topping pie to take to a family gathering. Needless to say that was a huge hit.

I had no problem talking Annie into running up there with me this afternoon. These are the items we indulged in today!

Annie tried the Sausage Pepper Breakfast Quiche on a flaky Crust. She also chose the Banana Cream Pie!

Me, I settled for the Coconut Cream Pie with some of their great coffee. (The coffee alone is superb!)

Forget Starbucks, this Java is way cheaper and way better. They actually give you about six flavors to choose from (I am a basic Breakfast Blend, although I enjoy the Mountain Cherry also).

And did I mention the prices? Today's purchase came to $8.20. The fabulous Apple Dumpling Pie I brought to dinner, cost me $15.00. Slice of pie, (I think, just a couple of bucks) and my coffee $1.25 The quiches $3.39, sandwiches, soups, salads, all comparable to Panara Bread. This place is comfy cozy clean and great staff.

Okay, I am getting hungry again! If you are Blessed enough to have one of these franchises near you, I suggest you go! They are wonderful. FYI~ I go to the one in Greenwood Indiana, we also have one in Terre Haute and one in Evansville. Outside Indiana? Good Luck!
