What Happened to Kristen

This is a somber anniversary.  9/11 affected us all in one way or another.
My cousin and her husband worked in the Trade Center, and I am not sharing her story.  I still, even after all these years, know just bits and pieces of her story. She was pregnant with her twins. She & her husband survived. It's difficult for her to talk about it, and she shares very little of it.
My high school friend, Kristen Frederickson, was living in New York also in 2001.  She and her family now live in London. Kristen has a fabulous blog in which I follow.  Recently she posted two wonderfully written post on what they experienced on that date. With her permission, I am sharing her story.

Good Reading

I recently finished this book. Prayers and Lies by Sherri Wood Emmons. It is a great read! It's Sherri's first novel. She has a gift of writing and I am so glad she got this published. She was able to keep me transported to the characters and it was a page turner. One of those books that you enjoy so much you want to read another. But she hasn't published novel two yet. I must wait.  What's exciting is I know Sherri.  We went to  High School together. We graduated a year apart and she was in the Social Club Trendz with me. We recently reconnected through good ole Facebook. I got to see the excitement as her book was released and so happy for her success. I am very much looking forward to her next book.

This is my current read. Heaven is for Real . It is a new book also that I reserved from the library. (I got to be the first reader. I love NEW library books!) It is a charming story of a little boys journey to Heaven and back. His father, Pastor Todd Burpo tells little Colton's story.

And finally, this is my next read.  Toast . My friend Kristen from High School and from Kristen in London mentioned it on her blog and I am intrigued. Fascinating story of a boy's childhood through the memories of food. I am waiting for the email from my library to let me know my copy is in.

I also have a couple of crocheting books I am going to flip through, and of course, I am still trying to tackle the Bible again.

Gotta keep reading... So, what are you currently reading?
