Last night was her last sorority formal.  She and Derek look so great! She sent this to me before they left.

They had a wonderful evening. Being a Chi Omega has been much fun. Emily always loved her dances throughout school. Middle School, High School, and College.  She's gonna miss the dances and formals.

Sergio and I got to see the girls this past Sunday. We drove up to Muncie, for a Parent Banquet with Emily's sorority Chi Omega. We also got to see Annie afterwards. Heaven for me, being able to see both my Baby Girls.

The Banquet was a charity silent auction raising money for Breast Cancer Foundation, one of their philanthropies.  Each sister gets a donated item, contributes money, or makes/buys an item.  With the Owl as the sorority mascot, and red and cream their colors, most the items had this type of theme going. Great things in the auction this year. director chairs, stools, blankets, Vera Bradley set, baskets of things~ a cooking theme, scrapbooking theme, beauty theme. A hot item was a Brazilian Blowout hair products, and some cool artwork and miscellaneous things.
Emily and I made a mirror with a David Letterman quote (Mr Letterman went to BSU and is a huge supporter).

We used rub on decals. We scrapped the first one (so hard to stay straight!) and this is our finished product. The quote says: "Chi-O's were the ideal partners for all occasions. They were discrete, desirable, tactful, polite, and fun.. Every Mom dreamed of her son coming home with a Chi Omega, a woman's woman."

I was pleased that it was a hot item.

The food was great, we had wonderful table mates. And the auction was a success.

This is Emily's final year of sorority. I have said it before, but must say again, I think the sororities have been a wonderful part of my daughters college experiences.

Picked this up while we were there.  So proud!

Also picked up this ceramic Margarita glass Emily and I made together at the Chi Omega Mother Daughter Day. I love how it turned out. Really had a hard time imagining it finished. I'm not use to ceramic drink ware (except for coffee mugs).
After the banquet we went back to Emily's house and met up with Annie, getting to visit with her and friend, Barry, for a bit. Then got going so Emily could work on some homework.

It was a beautiful day. An absolutely beautiful day♥

Mel's Run With Delta Zeta

I had a lovely time with my girls for Mel's Run. It was a fund raiser for Riley's Children's Hospital Burn Unit. Annie's sorority Delta Zeta had a a nice turn out on a beautiful day.

We did the walk. I'm not a runner. It is a fun Run/Walk that allows the participates to bring their dogs. Last year we brought Bandit & Dakota, this year they stayed home.

I am glad my daughter's chose to join Sororities. It would have been nice if they had chosen the same, however the ones they chose are great fits for them both. Emily is a Chi Omega. And Annie is a Delta Zeta. They may not be sorority sisters, but they will always be Real Sisters. I am so proud of them both!

Chi-O Banquet

I love these banquets. It is a wonderful time for me to get to know her sorority sisters and what they are up too.

Very grateful that my girls have joined and have their sororities. They are creating wonderful memories and learning great life experiences.

A Day with My Grown Up Baby

Yesterday I got to spend the afternoon with my lovely Annie. We went to her sorority banquet, The Delta Zeta 2010 Parent Banquet. It was very well organized and I actually learned alot about her sorority, what they have achieved as well as hearing lovely speeches from the Senior sisters. Our lunch was wonderful! And the company even better.

I very much understand and appreciate why Annie choose Delta Zeta as her sorority. She meshes well and she is a perfect fit with these girls.

These girls are amazing.

I do believe that these are Annie's forever friends. I do believe these girlfriends will be there for her always.

They are as lucky as she.

She's Home!!!

Last night I picked up my 19 year old baby girl, Emily, from Ball State University. She is home for the summer! Her first year of college is under her belt, she did very well, she succeed and she has grown up so much.

The past 9 months have gone better than I feared. I felt comfortable with her at BSU, I raised her best I could. It was now up to her to do the best with what we gave her.

I could not have been more proud.

She worked very hard with her classes. Double majoring in Elementary Education and Special Education. She loaded herself with classes, and managed to work part time in an office as well.

She made many lifelong friends, joined a Sorority (She's a Chi-O girl!), and enjoyed the very social life of college living.

Being home after 9 months of living with her peers will be an adjustment. I am sure we will manage. Before we know it she will be off again, back to BSU. I plan on enjoying every minute I have with her. She has grown into this very amazing young woman that I could not possible love more.
