A Ticking Clock

I know we usually take this time to reflect back and take a good look at the past year.  It's New Year's Eve... that is what we do.
These are the highlights & low points of the year...
Here is what I plan to do to improve the coming year, my New Years Resolutions...
Well, forget that.
I typically do my "New Year's Resolutions" on my Birthday in June.  I also prefer to keep it private.
Yes.. I do look back at 2011... the high's and low's, but the past is the past.  Can't change what has happened.  Had some really sad moments and some really glad ones too.

Today, I look forward to the future.  2012. What will we see? What will we do? What changes will we endure that are miniscule only effecting us personally.  And what huge changes that will make modifications for us all?

I have big plans for the coming year.
  • I will be starting college classes... something I haven't done since the eighties.
  • I will have a daughter graduating from college. And another that will be going abroad.
  • I am turning 50... 50 years old... how odd is that in my head? I have plans for this old body to start being treated better so that it will serve me better. I will not take aging lightly. I will embrace it only if we cooperate.
  • I plan on having a better financial year.  After the beating and change of the past couple years, we are facing the ole financial struggle and we will not let it get the best of us. We are stronger, we are smarter.
  • I am going to have fun.  That's right, damn it, I am going to enjoy this year.  I am going to have belly laughs and turn frowns into smiles.
Life is full of surprises.
No one really knows what will happen.
The clock is ticking...
I need to start enjoying this life that God has chosen for me and stop trying to change the plan.  I do believe that my life was planned before I was even born. So I must trust, and appreciate what it is.  Only then can I truly get it.

01.01.10

2010
It's here!
The new year.
What do we have to come?
What will this year bring to us?

I have spent a good part of the afternoon & evening reading Blogs and comments from this past week. I feel very connected to them/you and enjoyed catching up. Just about everyone has written about The New Year.

My turn.

I am full of thoughts.
Should I say this or that?
What would my readers & followers want to hear?

I had a fun evening out last night that gave me many smiles. Sergio & I laughed all the way home. Should I post about it?

My head is very clear about my expectations for this year. Should I write about that?

Reviewing the year? I found it very interesting to read a month to month brief account of what the year brought to a couple of my blogger friends.

And, then, of course there are the New Year Resolutions. Although, my true Blogger Followers may remember that I do new year resolutions on my birthday in June.

I am listening to my New Year Songs as I type. I love these songs. I promise not to leave them up too long, but they are really good songs for the start of the year.

I think, I will just leave you with this:

I am looking forward to this year.

I will promise myself to make the most of it and embrace each day.
I will start every day with optimism.
I will be positive and try to bring that attitude with me to all I encounter.
I will be grateful and accept what God has given me and give back.
I will love my life.

Have a Blessed year my friends. Full of happiness, good health, great memories, the best of friends, may it be prosperous and the best year so far.

My Sister's Keeper

Friday, I got to go catch a movie with my sister, Julie. We chose "My Sister's Keeper".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdZZLdjBfCI

We both have read the book. I am a big Jodi Picoult fan. Love her books. Her stories are nail biting to me. Never knowing which way she will take you. You can not predict her books. You won't always love the characters, or the direction of the stories. You won't love every ending. (I threw the book "Handle With Care", when I finished it. So mad about the ending.) But, that is part of what I love about her books. You just don't know how it will end.

My Sisters Keeper, is a wonderful story. With a sad ending. Both the Book and the Movie.

I won't tell you what happens, I hope you choose to read or watch. Let me tell you, they are different.

Show me a movie that is carbon-copy of the book. It just never happens that way. The movie would be too long. You must go with an open mind when watching a movie that has been a favorite book. And vise-versa when you read the book of a movie you adored. Remember it is about being entertained.

My Sister's Keeper, will entertain. It is good. I know most are giving it bad reviews, but I loved it. I felt the actors did it justice. I enjoyed how it is told through more than one perspective. I will watch it again. Bring your tissues, you will cry. Sometimes we need a good cry movie. Two thumbs up from me.

I haven't been to a show for a while. It was lovely. So was the time spent with Julie. I must add that to my New Year's Resolutions.
