Sour Patch 21 yr Old Kids

My daughters and I love PINTEREST.  I got addicted first and then introduced my girls to this wonderful world of pining on social bulletin boards. It is a grand waste of time, but also a wonderful resource to crafts, DIYs, ideals, recipes, clothing, party planning, websites, photography, the list goes on and on.
A few of the "gifts" I gave my daughters, came from Pinterest ideals. The Baby, {mind you she just turned 21 recently}, used a pinterest ideal with a twist this evening.
And these items together...
Citrus Vodka & Sour Patch Candy
And you get this....
She let them soak in... drained them... and they are Sour Patch Candies for the over 21 crowd.

Currently being munched on as she and friends watch the Indiana University basketball team get killed by Michigan State in a big Ten game.  I am about to be a DD, and take them to Broad Ripple (the fun place to be late at night if you are between 21-31. {Okay, even the 50 yr olds love Broad Ripple but we don't hang with the younger crowd there}.

So strange... I knew these kids when they first loved Sour Patch candies. BUT without the alcohol.  I have known these particular friends of hers since they were in Elementary school.  Now, with Christmas Break, and they are all back together from their different colleges, they are catching up and still enjoying friendships.

Well, I think they are ready for me to chauffeur them.

Old Alcohol At My House!

So, last week Emily stopped by to see the house. (My girls are busy @ school and had yet to have an opportunity to see the new house).
She brought her Bestie, Tony.
At one point she teased me about the bottles of alcohol I have at the house and told Tony that we keep our alcohol forever and that she could probably take it without us noticing (she'll be 21 in a couple of months). She was particularly mean (jk~Em)about my Patron bottle in the freezer. I have a couple of ounces left. I have had it for a couple of years ~ with just that big shot left.

So, this past Friday, in anticipation of the girls coming on Saturday, I decided to have a little drink. My choice of poison was Bailey's and coffee. I was looking forward to it. I made the coffee, then poured a nice little shot in. Something wasn't quite right. It smelled heavenly, but looked...nasty. It was clumping in my cup! This Baileys can't be bad! I just cracked open the seal! In inspecting the label I spied "BEST IF DRANK BEFORE MAY 01. May 01? Oh My Gosh! MAY 2001? How embarrassing! It is freaking eight years old!!!! No, older. If drank BEFORE 01, I probably had it a year or so prior! Ok Emily. You are right. My alcohol is old! Maybe, I need to inspect my liquor cabinet and toss some other bottles out. I can start over:)

Wino

My daughters are off to work & play. My husband is off on a business trip. I am about to spend a splendid evening by myself and a bottle of wine.

I am not a big drinker. I am a weenie. One or two glasses will do me. I love Margarita's and I love Kahlua w/ orange juice. My wine choice is White Zinfandel. The kool-aid of wines as a friend once told me. My Lifers drink grown up stuff like Chardonnay & Merlot. Martinis and Grey Goose. I am the wimpy drinker.

Not always the case. I think I drank my quota by the age of 27. Back in the day, it was Jack Daniels, Gin, and Tequila shots. Budweiser, Mooseheads & Tecata's. I could keep up. I toned it down quite a bit since having children.

For tonight, I think I will turn on some Lynryd Skynryd, REO and Areosmith, maybe even a little Molly Hachett, since no one is home. I have a ton of packing up the house and a little wine will help me throw a lot of stuff away.

Cheers!
